Can You Still Hear Me

Contributed by Nazmythian on Tuesday, 20th September 2005 @ 03:46:32 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Lay your head
Upon my chest
Hear my heart
As it’s callin’ out
Your name

Can you hear me?

Close your eyes
Search the dark
Find me there
As I wish for you
To be near me

Can you still hear me?

Take me inside
Your loving arms
Don’t let go
Till the night
Is gone away

Then tell me you’ll stay

Can we do the things
That lovers do
When they say goodbye
But take
The rest of our lives

And not walk away?

Don’t walk away

Please tell me you’ll stay

(music fades as if end, then crescendos into an instrumental break )

Can you hear me
Cryin’ in the night
Holdin’ on tight
To the dreams
We used to share

When you were there?

Can you feel me
Reachin’ out to you
Tryin’ to find the truth
In everything
That you said?
Just lies in my head

Lies in my bed

( intrumental break )

Can you hear me

Can you still hear me

I still need you near me

nazzy, this one is GREAT! I don't think it needs any more
rhyming. It is perfection. Packed with powerful emotions.
Love it!

Wow. Emotional work, Scott. Moving and powerful.

May peace find this situation, indeed.

"That lovers do

This is just great.

Here are words from one of my favorite songs to encourage you about this write.

"Can't we try
love is not supposed to say good bye
touch me one more time
and make me feel that I'm alive
and if we don't survive
atleast we'll have a moment here
with honest pain and tears
then say good bye

Come lay your head down on my heart
the morning sun will lead you
you know that i don't need you
we can't go back to yeaterday
go away, I wish you'd stay"

I think your song is well written just as the one i quoted by Teddy Pendergras called "Can't we try"

I see Anna has visited again... and what a grogeous Melody she has bestowed upon you to share with us all...

What can I say... it resonates with truth and yearning, recklessness and desire... Flawless in every way, dripping with sentiment and melancholy... Nostalgic, and beautiful, and.... you. It radiates with your essence, and that is the most important part of a poem, at least in my opinion, :-). I hope she can still hear you... and sings along. Exquisite, as always! Merci beaucoup for sharing, cheri. All my love. Forever,

Your little flower/avid fan/dear friend,

~*Stephy*~
