Never Said Goodbye

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Tuesday, 20th September 2005 @ 11:49:18 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

You never said goodbye
The words you haven't read just hang in the air
Patiently waiting and I'm still standing there
All the things we ever said
Are turning into echoes left to linger
In the hollowed out space between my fingers

It seems you've gone away
Late at night, the world around still feels like you
So I sigh and I breathe, what else can I do?
My dear, wherever you've gone
Whatever ground you're walking upon tonight
All I really hope for is that you're alright

There's nothing left to lose if there ever was at all
And please know that I still listen for you in the stars
But I can't find you there and I don't know where you are

I am not letting go
And if you've moved along in spite of yourself
Well I don't know, but I won't lie to myself
This life is just incomplete
All the empty holes overflowing into
A moonlit shell where an angel waits for you

So now I'll wish you well
Send all my love into the sky, just listen
Feel it, remember, just see how it glistens
I never saw you broken
Now that I realize how broken you could be
Dammit, I need you, please find your way to me

We've got nothing to lose but the worn out mystery
Of a love so overdefined it's lost the meaning
So let's find it together, just breathing... just being...

You never said goodbye.

This is so haunting and lovely, Dee. Life is a strange thing. We sit lonely in this big universe thinking of someone and maybe, just maybe, he is thinking of you too. Miracles do happen sometime. One day he may just knock on your door. I would love to see you face if it happens, lol. I send you blessing and gift of tomorrow. Don't give up easily. Keep looking at that sky because it is the same one he is looking at.

Smiles,
Rita

It’s poetically moving, and written so well. I’ve always enjoyed reading your writes since it represents who you are and what some people are feeling. You’ve captured feelings of longing well with your expressive use of words.

This was great Dee. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

Jane~

Very nice write indeed. I love the way you combine an essence of sadness with positive thoughts. I really do. I love that and it makes for a very enjopyable read. You bring out the good even in a bad situatuion....some one that never said good-bye.

I simply love this line too (not that the others aren't great):

"And please know that I still listen for you in the stars". Ah, brilliant. :-)

Thank you, Dee, for sharing this.

Take care,

Tim
:-)

I've just read this for the second time.

This is such a moving and powerful piece,

well penned in every sense.

It just hits the chords that i'm sure you intended.

Excellent.

J.

Closure is so essential. It can be painful, but it allows us to move forward. You have described that "stuckness" so well here.
