Dreamin' With My Eyes Open Wide

Well I'm a stranger in this town
And I don't know a solitary soul
But I've got these songs I've got to sing
So I guess I'll just keep pressin' on

I've sung in many places
Seen hundreds of faces
Had the door shut so many times

I've faced my share of dead end roads
And heard thousands of I don't knows
But I'm still dreamin with my eyes open wide

I got my songs and my guitar
In hopes I'll be a country star
With a humble heart and head held high

Someday soon I know I'll find
Someone who likes the songs I write
Then I'll wake up on that stage with lights
