Fortifications, Stand Tall

There is nothing that seeps through
These unrelenting walls,
Where within, a creature hungers for caress,
It calls.
Fortifications that guard mysteries inside,
Keep away the constant pain,
By which we all abide.
The tops of the towers disappear
Untouched by human vision,
Cannot be climbed, cannot be seiged
By infinite precision.
The stones do not loosen from flattery and deceit
Those who do, kindness may come,
But friendship will not greet.
Swords, force and flowers cannot tear down
Such dense partitions.
Those who speak and receive no response
Do not listen.
There are two who stand at either end
Who’ve waited patiently,
They are the ones who comprehend
That there is no physical key.
They wait for welcome, and every word take heed,
That they have braved the storms and shadow;
While the others flee.
For them the walls have crumbled,
for others remained the same
for them, I come flying
when either breathes my name.
