maybe i was born a star
but not before i fell too far
unto land of bitter sand
where love is held within a hand

maybe i was born a stone
never smiling, i'm alone
waiting on the shores of fate
pick me up before too late

maybe i was born a tree
and then to let you climb on me
swing from branches hanging low
before next month, brings the snow

i love you marigold
all that's mellow in your fold
marry me be something told
I do... i do...
