Living On Borrowed Breath

Living On Borrowed Breath

I live today
On borrowed breath
For I once stray
from fated death.

While sucking my last breath
I begged God for a chance
I heard myself cry, hoping
He would save the last dance.

Window of my soul closed
And sad songs played
Black birds flew to me
As if knowing I was dead.

I saw the light of a train
That traveled with force so bold
And the sudden crimson rain
Is the ode from this broken soul

I thought I could cry
And listened to people weep
But now I felt pierced
On the chest, nine inch deep.

Nothingness was there
Light and blackness
everywhere.

I asked God for a chance
To see the final dance
To replay the rain
To live again.

God I just want to borrow some time
Some breath
Not now, Death!

Sitting afar and aloof
He looked and vanished
With a tear in His eye
He said ‘it is finished’

Heaven door closes, noises rise
I know where I am
Someone touches me and sighs
I am, I am damned.

The golden sun kisses softly on my cheek
I open my tired eyes and see
Bright cards and smiling people around me.

I winked at God this morning
and put all my sorrows to death
I live every second to my finest
for I am living on borrowed breath.
