Lonely Tears

Contributed by iesha on Thursday, 15th September 2005 @ 10:30:53 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The sun glimmers in the tears that fill my eyes.
A tear slowly falls down my pale cheek,
Sparkling with the beauty of a thousand diamonds.

I look around to see that no one has noticed.
They can’t see the pain over flowing in me.
They don’t realise how dead I really am.

I stand before them as an empty shell;
A shell that once could laugh and be happy.
A shell that once sparkled with life.

Now I can’t control the pain rushing forth.
I can’t push the pain below the surface anymore.
The pain is pulling me apart from the inside out.

The people around me claim to care.
Friends that can’t take the time to listen.
Family that can turn away from my needs.

I stand before them crying out in pain.
They don’t hear my pain spilling forth,
They don’t take notice to the life draining from me.

I hold my breath just trying to hold on,
Trying to hold onto the last bit of me.
I hold onto my fleeting hopes of life.

I close my eyes trying to wish it all away.
The tears don’t stopping blinding me,
And I can’t hide the pain behind my troubled eyes.

I’ve been cast aside into my despair.
I’ve been left to fight alone for me.
I’ve been tossed aside and forgotten.

The sun glimmers in the tears that fill my eyes.
And I continue to stand alone in a crowd.
My pain taking me away and leaving a shell.

WOW!!! that was a wonderful poem. I can relate to it so well.
"The people around me claim to care.
Friends that can’t take the time to listen.
Family that can turn away from my needs." That hit me the hardest cause I know what its like to be forgotten.

That was absolutely wonderful. I am sure so many of us feel that exact way. Love the way it is written. Keep it up.

A nice and emotional writing.

I would suggest correction in the 3rd line here:
I look around to see that no one has noticed.
They can’t see the pain over flowing in me.
They don’t realise how dead I really am.
Something like:
They can't see the pain overflowing me
Or
They can't see the overflowing pain of mine...
Nice work anyway!
Alex

I've been there and I can sympathize with this on such a deep level. I know how it is to have friends that are too busy talking that they can't listen and family that are too busy to notice you dying inside. Start taking better care of yourself. You are the only one who can make you happy. You'll get through this and it will make you stronger. Best of luck!
