My Love, My Friend, My Everything

Contributed by wordpoet on Friday, 17th January 2003 @ 01:40:00 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

When dark and frigid is the night, dread thoughts begin to race,
And everything you’re living for seems strange and out of place.
Remember that I’m here for you, I’ll be there by your side,
To hold you gently in my arms, wiping tears that you have cried.

I offer you no promises of what life has left in store,
No false bravado in my voice, no underlying score.
Just a hand for you to hold onto, if only for a time,
An understanding heart to share will be my only crime.

And anytime you need a friend just call me I’ll be there,
To quell the troubles in your life and keep secret all you share.
Thoughts of you rest in my heart, each moment to defend,
My love, my friend, my everything I’ll be there ‘til the end.
