A Fighter

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

She's a fighter
And sometimes she loses the battle
But she always wins the war
She keeps nothing from her two best friends
And she has her secrets like we all do
She smiles right at you
But it's more than that
It's the comfort
That's in her smile
And it's the way
She smiles for you
If ever you can't
She's a fighter
And sometimes she loses the battle
But she always wins the war
She's never sad, ever
But when she is, it's easy to tell
She loves a laugh
As much as she loves anything else
Especially a laugh given to her
By someone she loves to laugh with
You never do anything wrong in her eyes
You just do things that you wouldn't do again
And I love it that way
She's a fighter
And sometimes she loses the battle
But she always wins the war
She's the kind of person that gives you hope
If there's someone who loves you for you
Despite all the things you would change
Like she does
Then it'll be okay
If there's someone who dries your tears
Even if you don't know why you're crying
Like she does
Then it'll be okay
She's a fighter
And sometimes she loses the battle
But she always wins the war
She dances through her life
With strength you can spot a mile away
And a sense of humor to envy
And two best friends who love her
And I pray that's enough
She sees good hidden in all sorts of places
And she uses that as her fuel to get by
To her life is a game
And she plays it right
She's a fighter
And sometimes she loses the battle
But she always wins the war
I see this girl
As I see myself
I know her ups
I know her downs
I know her victories
I know her losses
I love it all
I wouldn't be half as good of a me without it
I wouldn't be half as good of a me without her
She's a fighter
And sometimes she loses the battle
But she always wins the war
