How strange I am still alive
Despite all mortal traps and fights.
How strange I have survived
Despite all If's,Perhaps', and Might's.
How strange I haven't lost my mind
Despite insanity I witness.
How strange I trust in humankind
Despite its errs and its weakness.
How strange I can still hope
Despite uncertainty and doubts.
How strange I am not to stop
Despite all barriers and knots.

This is nice, but it needs more feeling in it. Why do you hold back. Repetition does not increase feeling in words. Rather it stunts them from showing the power meant to be there, but isn't.

This is a poignant poem Alex.
Amazing that Morningdove should take exception to the repetition. It's an integral part of the stanzas. "How Strange"
"How Strange that it not understood :) ::O:)
The very miracle of our existance and daily experiences and discoveries plus new insights are phenominal. How Strange!
.
Great poem.!

Your poem and this quote I discovered today, crazy coincident.
some people never go crazy.
what truly horrible lives
they must lead.
