Stand Beside Me

Contributed by Willofree on Monday, 12th September 2005 @ 07:31:22 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Do not go before me, I may not follow
If you walk behind me, I may loose you
Walk beside me, so we may face life together

One step forward and two steps back
The dance of life quickens
The moments flow, passing us by

Like a merry-go -round
All clustered together and spinning and twirliing around
In one fluid and fleeting motion

The dance expands and evolves
The tempo from carefree to oblivion goes
Into the darkest and remote area we fall

Emerging from the expanse of darkness
A beacon of light, like a lighthouse, searching the night
Illuminating the darkness, and alleviating the fright

Clearlng a path through the unforeseen
Enmeshed in darkness to eternity
Our faith is our armor that guards and shields us

So little time in this fast pace and rhyme
As the whirlwind of life passes us by
Too little time for everything on our mind

One can only hope and pray
That our Lord and savior
Is by our side the whole way

Lovely, Willofree! Just LOVELY!
Only one thing. I think you meant to write 'If you walk behind me, I may LOSE you.' Not LOOSE you.
Other than that, I think the whole poem is FANTABULOUS!
