The Boat That Never Returned

Contributed by Channing on Monday, 12th September 2005 @ 10:29:09 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Out to sea they go
And will they come back?
Nobody will ever know
For nothing will lack
In a love that will grow

Nothing will tear them apart
Not the raging water
Nor the thunderous art
Only the boat will falter
For the boat has no heart

The waves crash, the waves smash
A helpless worn hull
Wood gives way at the thrash
The water fills the ship to full
They fall from the boat with one last lash

Floating in the endless blue
Their hands at last grasp
As the treacherous storm ensues
They let out one last gasp
Then float down into darkness, just Me and You

That's different. However I still like it. For some reason though it feels it is missing something. I'm not trying to be rude or anything I just think maybe you should add something. But if you didn't it is still good nonetheless!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
