God's Greatest Gift

God’s Greatest Gift
~~~~~
I’m watching you sleep on your soft little pillow
The way I used to do back when you were little
Listening for each breath, watching your chest
Moving up and down in a peaceful rest
I wonder what goes on inside that little mind
When it’s got time to rest between play time
Are you dreaming of toys or monsters under the bed?
Or maybe even the story in which we just read
Are you dreaming of growing up big and tall?
Or making the team for your college baseball
Maybe flying a plane or even a kite
Or chasing dragons in the depths of the night
Whatever it be, I’ll be here to share
When you awake when morning is here
This is such a most loving poem, and I just smile from eyes to heart, the interest you have in your child is a great gift, and you are so correct, children and parents, all gifts, can you see yourself lying there, the child you once were, how blessed you are, your family is full of love from God, thank you for writing beautiful words for us to see, these words show that the world is still alive and God is very much in it....
