The Story the Moon Told

Contributed by Channing on Sunday, 11th September 2005 @ 02:30:31 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

An illuminating moon shines down
Tears travel down her cheek
The moon reveals her frown
She has been beaten down so weak

A sorrowful black eye
Caused from a fit of rage
Because she simply told a lie
The moon turns another page

Malevolent bruises on her back
The sting of a leather belt
Because she gave him a little flack
The moon defines all she’s felt

A blood red burn
From the lick of a lighters flame
He told her to learn
The moon knows she’s not to blame

A throbbing broken leg
Caused by a tumble down the stairs
He wanted to crack her like an egg
The moon sees the last of it as it stares

Deathly gunpowder on her hands
She ended him
Free from his restricting bands
Thus the moon has told

Magnificent write on a topic generally not spoken about, but needs big time coverage. Abuse in any form or fashion is wrong. Abusers are cowards that take out their anger and lack of self esteem on those weaker. I have no tolerance for these creatures and they should die. Not at the hands of the abused but in the hands of justice, but it just doesn't work that way. Domestic abuse is not something the cops want to tackle or the judiciary system sadly.

Very powerful write. This topic isn't covered that often, so I'm glad someone's putting the word out about it. Great job.

Wow. I love this piece...So strongly emotive, and a grim reality for far too many. You wrote this well, and kudos to you for being a guy and telling this story especially. Thank you for posting this.
