This isn’t the first time this has happened
They left me feeling alone and defeated
Why does it seem I’m always the victim?
Have they chosen me?
Have they broken me?
I don’t think so
It’s my time to shine
Through the darkness I will prevail
Ravishing my enemies while crimson reigns
The time has come
Blackened eyes and bruised ribs
Don’t they care about what they’ve done?
Taunted and tormented by lies
Trying to destroy me
Have they succeeded?
I don’t think so
It’s my time to shine

The time has come
They’ve tried in vain to kill me
But I don’t think they have succeeded
What they have set out to do
I’ve put up too good a fight
This isn’t the first time I’ve escaped the light
