Would the pains of the world go away?
If I chose not to look
Would they subside for at least one day?
If I closed my eyes
Would hunger not exist?
If I chose not to look
Would disasters suddenly miss?
If I closed my eyes
Would peace be restored?
If I chose not to look
Would we live in one accord?
If I closed my eyes
Would our streets become safe?
If I chose not to look
Would gutters be a better place?
If I closed my eyes
Would hatred be defeated?
If I chose not to look
Would politics not be so heated?
If I closed my eyes
Would the world be a better place?
If I chose not to look
Would unity take place of race?
If I closed my eyes
Would I ever want to see again?
If I chose not to look
Would my prayer ever win?

we close are eye but a prayer will give us hope... |
