The Sweetest Lie

Contributed by xxbreathlessx on Wednesday, 7th September 2005 @ 10:29:34 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Inhaling the nights sweet poetic wind,
Lost in the romance it provides as
Trees cast an echo to the sound of
My heart breaking.
In the shadows lie the sweet sorrow of hope fallen
To boundless limits
And the moon sheds a tear for my hearts misfortune,
Transcending, I feel it drop
Lucid shine beneath my skin.
I look up and your there
Smiling.
The tears mean nothing and the
And sound is deaf to my ears
Because my eyes can only see you.
Heart and mind compete in a battle
Where temptation and logic thrash around
in a cloud of smoke,
where sense is lost in the madness of your voice
vibrating in my ear,
singing me to my own heartbreak.
So convincing I let myself inside those notes,
That dance magically in the air,
Carving out words I fail to hear,
But just dance to the hum of your voice.
Sway me from one deception to another.
Tell me your not like those other guys.
Oh, but you are.
You are.
Lie to me in the midst of night’s awakening.
Lie to me.
Lie to me.
Just like all those other guys.
Lie.

Awww so very bittersweet, isn't it? You captured those feelings so very well here. I like the style you wrote this in too...Nicely done!
