Just two words

Contributed by Wendy on Wednesday, 7th September 2005 @ 03:10:06 PM in AEST
Topic: Event

After the furious winds and tides
Clear from where gulf and earth meet
The connecting lines have disappeared
As flooding waters retreat.

It is said that ignorance is bliss
But in this time no word at all is truly pain.
I would give all I own to hear the words
“I’m fine.” from her once again.

In trust she stayed with one I don’t trust
He left his family’s lives to fate
And until the lines are reconnected
All I can do is wait.

The worry is so agonizing
The minutes stretch endlessly on.
Did they escape the fury’s path?
Is my dear aunt and her family gone?

In the last few months so many of my loved ones
Have been called to their heavenly home.
Will the angel rolls swell once more
With those I call my own?
