Their Own Fates

We jumpers jumped to a sure fate
From that hell to heaven's gate
And when the angels asked us why?
We all gave the same stirring reply
"I'd rather go by my own will
As I fell I felt calm, soothed, and still
Those last moments for me I'll never regret
For how much peaceful could that place get
than for me to leave it and be welcome here
in heaven to never have to draw another tear
I jumped for the better of my soul
Instead of suffering like others, their deaths were cruel
And as I fell one of you angels caught me
I jumped for the better can't you see?"
