Roses Are Red

Contributed by gospel.apostle on Tuesday, 6th September 2005 @ 01:51:15 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

You've plucked each petal from its stem,
And you've counted them over again.
He loves me, he loves me not;
But this method never passes the test.
Tears slowly fill your eyes,
But your heart's the one crying at night.

Almost given up on the man of your dreams;
Searching for the one who plays for keeps.
Plucking petals or pennies in a well,
Can Prince Charming finally break this spell.
You're waiting to be swept off your feet;
Each petal you pluck, the farther it seems.

They all lay scattered across your bedroom floor;
Like a heart shattered so many times before.
Sweeping them under your closet door,
They're so tender and mean so much,
Emotions run high, and fever at the touch,
No other flower does as such.

Spend your evenings plucking out a bouquet;
When your just wishing your love away.
Love is worth the investment, despite the risk;
It's taken by the heart and given in a kiss.

Roses, roses;
Every bouquet tied with bows,
Scent fills our noses;
In gentle doses,
Embrace the passion and closeness,
And just know this,
With your lips, you blow invisible kisses
And repeatedly recite this:

Roses and red;
It's stem is green,
It starts with two pairs of lips;
And sealed by the passion in between.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
