City Night
In the cavernous abyss
between office blocks
and hotels, a narrow car
infested asphalt river runs.
Streetlamps cast a mellow
spell on discarded rubbish,
a treeless city's abject leaves.
An empty, beer can clatter
in the night, a window opens
and for a moment loneliness
is the focal point.
