I am No-one

Contributed by Ger on Monday, 5th September 2005 @ 11:21:55 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Who am I?
What am I?
Where am I?
When am I?
I am lost
Without name, without purpose
I was not born of mortal flesh
I was born of mortal squalor
Before all that I was nothing
Now I am No-one
My life
Scarred
Beaten
Worn
My life
Ridicule
Remorse
Pain
Pain, pain, pain
Searing, hot, red
What am I?
Am I a toy?
Am I what I’m treated?
Is that where I belong?
Am I the dirt I’ve been considered?
Faces, leering
That is my hallway
The Light is at the end
And until I reach it I have the faces
Hideous, contorted
I am spat on, pushed
Yet I go on – to what?
What do I have worth living for?
Nothing, for I am nothing
I have no hands
They’ve been cut off
I have no past
I have but a present, for that was when I was noticed
That was when I was born
I am No-one, because nobody wants me
I am No-one, because nobody sees me
I am No-one, by force, not choice
I am No-one

Powerful poem.....

filled with such self-loathing and sheer desperation....you conveyed your feelings of unworthiness with great splendor.

and dont we ALL feel this way from time to time?...

very moving and well.....heart-breaking.

YOu are worth more than you think dear friend!

You are something, you are you
One of one and few of few
If you hope
Then you will cope
Close your eyes and hear the sound
Of the love that's all around
Do not look at all things bad
Look again and you'll be glad
