Journey of Hope

Contributed by evilfairy on Monday, 5th September 2005 @ 11:11:22 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A thousand nights without a shoulder
To sleep away my dreams
It’s only now that I am older
That I’ve learned to dull the screams

I’ve wandered through the darkness
And I’ve run toward the light
A journey with no progress
An end that’s not in sight

I’ve wasted years on a life
But I’ve lived for just a moment
Hovering at the edge of a knife
Afraid I’ll fall into torment

Loving like I’ve always been hurt
Hiding from my greatest desire
Groveling like a convert
Praying for someone to light a fire

Desperation keeps me clinging
To a hope that is hollow
Hoping one day life will bring
A path that I can follow
