Once Upon a Million Stars

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Monday, 5th September 2005 @ 10:22:31 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Once, upon a million stars
I wish, I wished I might
Live this vision in my mind
This dream I dreamed each night

I was as a butterfly
With wings, with wings of fire
You were as a buttercup
My heart, my heart's desire

Gently now, I dared to land
I touch, I touched your face
'Pon your petals tenderly
Our souls, our souls embrace

Softly as a sleeping breath
We danced the dance of sighs
In the meadow still, beneath
The blue, the bluest skies

Noble stars, I prayed to grant
Let this, let this come true
When I wish I may I might
Be loved, be loved by you

Wake me not and let me lie
In sleep, if sleep shall be
All the precious time allowed
To dwell, to dwell with thee

L. Carling c2005

Such tenderness and longing. It is so very simple yet exquisite in the lacing of the words and emotions.

Beautiful Larry, as always.

What have I missed ! This poem falls in my hands at exactly the right time and soothes my heart and mind in knowing it can be described with such beautiful words. Nothing like dreaming to satisfy your needs. It's sometimes even much better than reality =)

Beautiful Larry. The title captivated me, but that was nothing
compared to the words that lie in wait. How tremendously
touching. Everlasting beauty and grace everflow from
your pen. Brilliant write.

Beautiful Larry and very touching, written with
the style that only someone of your caliber is
capable of. The images that it brought to my
mind were very nice and it was just plain
awesome.

It seems I always cry when I get to reading your poetry. You touched my heart with your elegance, serenity, kindness, giving nature and your ability to take your heart and blend into a pen. You also have a remarkable way of making a person feel special as a friend. That isn't something most people naturally have. It is one of those rare traits that comes from inside and for whatever reason you are blessed with so many wonderful traits and talents.

It is a beautiful, breathtaking poem.

You are the best of best.

If you can feel a star and write about it---every single dream that you have is attainable.

Kie
