The Journey (Oveture)

Contributed by Archie on Monday, 5th September 2005 @ 05:19:19 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

( Introduction;)
I see the river flowing through the land
and do we travel to drink water grand
that fills our souls with wisdom
to make choices more complete
and helps us find provisions in this life replete

I am missing
a voice to guide me through the storms to see
when I''m walking through the valley
I am groaning
hoping this pure water
will quench the thirst within me
when my energy''s deplete

( Verse 1)
I hear the flutt''ring wings of birds that fly
going to places far from me to hide
from the cold that pursues them, the winter
flying over me as I drink pure water

And I''ll miss them
they taught me great lessons
as I watched them
raise chicks with devotion
defending them from predators
stronger than them
they fly off for home fleeing the winter

The cold harsh throes of dark creep in my soul
trying to take me from my pleasant road
Telling me that there''s no joy in winter
"You'll lose the strength you had in youth. you sinner"

If I walk with a cane so be it
I can repent of my sin ,you liar
the battle rages on
but it is not my fight
you hate God the father
and his holy light

And so we travel on the road toward home
where we await our treasure to behold
The father''s face to see
he will dry all our tears
our journey is complete
no more darkened years

We sing this song alone together in my dreams
I sing this song with you together in my dreams
I sing this song alone on my journey home

A remarkablely written song you have here Archie. You captivate the reader right throughout the song. The imagery used is sensational. Thanks for taking us on this journey.
Hugs,
Sue, Dreamer
