The battle for life

Contributed by SimplyAlucia on Sunday, 4th September 2005 @ 05:03:51 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

There is a god
This i believe and know
But why?
When struck with destruction and terror
His existance fails to show

Surely it wasn't all of their times to go
So many questions and answers
That this world just doesn't seem to know

World War 1
Where was our god?
Nobody knows

World War 2
Where was our God?
I don't know
Do you?

World War 3
Where was he?
I don't know you tell me

9/11 Where did our Father go?
Where was he then?
How on earth could such things happen again?

When the waves of Katrina crashed upon the shore
New Orleans was no more

Thousands of lives taken and others at stake
Oh lord please tell me
How much more of this can we take?

Father please forgive me for i have sinned
I have lost faith in you once again

Our Father who art in heaven
Hollowed be thy name
Oh father please tell me
How can i look at this the same?

Father please take heed in my words
Listen to my plea
Oh Father please
I'm down on bended knee

My hands are joined together in prayer
Oh Father please let me know you're still there

When times of trouble I hear him say....

Don't look to the right or to the left, but look to him. If I get my mind on what is on my left and on my right. Then I can't see him. My mind is totally on what is around me. We serve a God that is in control. What the devil means for bad. God brings good. what is the good in all this wars and devestations. We don't know unless we are the ones that live in each situation. There are alot of if's and why's in our world. JESUS died on the cross so we can ask him to be a part of our lives. He said He would never leave or forsake us. He said in his word that we will have wars. He said troubled times will come. When they do come know God is with us. So many lost their homes right ? Are they alive. What is more important material things or their families? TAKE A LOOK AT A ROSE. Some people say why did god put thorns on roses.. and some people say In the middle of our thorns God put a rose. Sometimes through our troubles we grow some. even closer to him because we seek him more when troubles are all around us. If the world was perfect. even if right now if the hurricane didn't come.. would you be on bended knee. The world isn't perfect. Even Jesus was tormented by people. wanting to hurt him. he went through alot and then suffered on the cross. He is the son of God. are we better.Take care. He loves you. and my friend one more thing. it is ok to say why. but don't put all the blame on him. god gives us all choices and if a bad man makes a choice then he has to deal with it. and we all have to suffer for it sometimes. god loves the good and the bad. cant take the bad from the bad becasue he is no respector of persons. sorry so long.......... you just touched me. remember. these people may end up in better homes for themselves. better jobs to take care of them. you never know.

I have a simple answer. God was right here. I could say more but it is not needed.

Your poem is well written and full of emotion.
Your question is a common one for people faced with grief and tragedy. I hope that you will find peace and come to understand God better.

Thank you for sharing your heart.

Listen to Archie and Sandpoet.

I already went through this this morning.

Frustration set in on me. Take a deep breath and smile, and just trust.. Pray. God is near, we will get through this.

I just pray after its all settled down, we won't forget what we felt when we were down on our bended knees praying for His help.

Peace be with you,

Raquel Leah :D

Let me see if I can give you a comment that makes it easier to understand. When God made Adam and Eve leave the Garden of Eden he then gave man complete dominion over the world. He would not intervene in anything on this earth in any way except to be there spiritually. He also gave us free will to do with live on this earth and individually what we felt was best. So spiritually he is with us, but we are in control, or the reason for good and bad, happy and sad, kindess or evil on this earth. He cannot just step in and stop a disaster, that is our responsibility, which we did not do. Complete dominion means exactly that, complete and total. When we rise to his plane he will be in charge. So anything that happens on this earth is because of man. The levees broke in NOLA because of the inferior structure that man created. The lives lost were because of that, not heeding mandatory evacuations issued, poverty, illness, and a lot of ill people in hospitals. The Federal government failed the Gulf Coast by not having disaster relief in place if it was a disasterous storm and then it was too late and took too long to get aid there. God is not the problem. Man is the problem. We create our problems and we have to fix our problems. God is in our hearts and souls daily for spiritual advice, but he cannot change anything that happens on this earth because of dominion. Hope that makes it a little easier to understand. It did for me. Rita
