What happened to the world?
What happened to its shine?
People use to be happy…
We never had to hide…
Now we’re running for our lives…
Trying to stay survive.
Fighting off the enemies…
Just before the sun is a rise…
Pray for our own safety…
We look toward the heavenly sky.
Bombs are going off…
Blasting the world away…
Killing all our soldiers…
In our prayers they stay…
When they’re so far away.
Families falling apart…
Lovers ripped out of their arms…
Brothers killed…
This planet is unfulfilled…
People take Prozac pills…
This life is so meaningless…
It’s no longer a loving thrill.
Cutters slice their very skin…
Sink a razor deeper in…
Drunks throw their lives in a gutter…
A silent girl is killed by her own mother…
Anger is lashed out in so many ways…
Tomorrow comes and still it’s a terrible day.
Unborn fetes aborted…
The father couldn’t support it…
Danger hides in every corner…
Tears are sliding down our cheeks…
We are losing a lot of sleep…
Thoughts ponder us every hour.
This is our world…
It has fallen apart…
We’re longer safe…
So we live in the dark.
