SHE SAID YOU CAN'T HOLD ME
AND WE KNOW YOU WANTED TO
IT WAS HARD TO LET GO
BUT NOTHING ELSE YOU COULD DO
WE KNOW YOU DID YOUR BEST
TO SAVE HER FROM HER FATE
BUT SHE'LL BE THERE IN YOUR CHILDRENS EYES
SO YOU'LL SEE HER EVERYDAY
NOW IT'S YOU WHO NEEDS HOLDING
SO WE WILL HOLD YOU UP IN PRAYER
WE'LL REMEMBER YOUR LOVE FOR HER
AND WE HOPE YOU KNOW WE CARE
GOD BLESS YOU, MR. JACKSON
AS YOU HOLD YOUR CHILDREN TIGHT
MAY YOU FEEL OUR PRAYERS SENT UP TO HIM
MAY GOD HOLD YOUR HAND TONIGHT
SHE KNOWS HOW YOU TRIED
AND WE KNOW YOU MUST CRY
BUT DON'T WORRY, OUR DEAR BROTHER
GOD HOLDS YOUR WIFE, YOUR CHILDRENS' MOTHER
WHEN YOU LOST YOUR GRIP
THE LORD TOOK HER HAND

Wow a very sweet poem, I almost cried. It would be horrible to lose somebody that you love. It is always hard. SLipSiX. Good bye can be one of the hardest things to say. |

This is so incredibly touching. I first saw the interview with Mr. Jackson a couple days ago... and was left weeping. There are so many tragic and sad stories on the heels of this horrid storm - so many unfathomable events and situations. Dear Mr. Jackson's story, though, has moved me more perhaps than any other (which, I should say, is absolutely not intended to imply that I do not feel for the others that have suffered and I by no means meant to suggest their loss is somehow less important by comparison, of course). It just tears me apart to think of what that moment was like... truly, I cannot even begin to imagine it and find it unbearable, really, to try.
You've truly done well here... this is so compassionately conveyed and so touching in both intent and presentation. It is lovely gesture and a beautiful poem.
