The Path

Contributed by NoangelNohope on Saturday, 3rd September 2005 @ 06:07:00 PM in AEST
Topic: self-harmpoetry

Falling tears only
fall elegantly upon
a silken road.
A maiden wanders
along pondering
meanings of her
journeys past.
Simple tears dotted
onto her patchwork
skin cover with lies
from memories before.
She screams and the
tears part a fragile
line for her to walk
forth on.
T' was hard for her to
push onward yet she
finds the strength.
Jagged edges on teardrops
rip at the damsel's thin
clothing creating new
terrors within.
Lustrous beads of rose
liquid form lines entwined
with the fabric of
her patchwork skin.
She closes her eyes.
Lets her own tears fall.
Lets her own tears open.
And at last she is able
to sprint across the
balance beam of mournfulness
to find her stitched
up smile among all
the flaws life conceived.
She bleeds and cries,
but is free amongst it all.
Finally.
