Dog or Frog?

Contributed by justme03 on Saturday, 3rd September 2005 @ 05:44:01 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

I have a dog
his name is Bob
but people call him Rob
and seem to think he's a frog
So day in and day out
he sits on a log
pretending to be a frog
To my great dismay
he never runs or plays
just sits on that log;
the dog that pretends to be a frog
And suddenly one day..
he
croaked...

Nevermind, :) All I can do is smile. I don't write poetry like that any more because my friends think it's too catchy and in an awkward moment it would come up as a joke.

LOL.. Oh my, I love this poem lol

Could be made into a limerick..

It is light and humorous.

Make the verse form of 5 chiefly anapestic verses

(a metrical foot consisting of two short syllables followed by one long syllable or of two unstressed syllables followed by one stressed syllable)

meaning, composed in meters....

of which lines 1, 2, and 5 are of 3 feet and lines 3 and 4 are of 2 feet with a rhyme scheme of aabba

I love the ending.. Croaked. Now that was a very, very brilliant idea.

Yours is aaaa, skip a rhyme, aabbaab skip, skip rhyme.

So, I see it as a limerick..

well job done, its fantastic.
