The Search Within

Contributed by Willofree on Friday, 2nd September 2005 @ 12:46:32 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

In the inner stillness there is an I
The essence of us and where we reside
We must shut out all the noise and find,
A quite place within our mind

Getting there is a difficult matter
Fear hides in the crevices of the latter
Brandishing fangs if we go too deep
However, there is a level beyond where the demons sleep

We must be determined to press on
Our journey through the great beyond
With no compass or map to follow
How do we know where we are going is allowable

To reach this spiritual core
One must first traverse to the outer regions and explore
It matters whether you and I or fear is running the show
We must travel within to reach our goal

Once we reach our spiritual center
There will only be peace allowed to enter
Here is where our soul resides
With a deep internal peace of mind inside

... It matters whether you and I or fear is running the show ...

Is there a word missing in that line ?
It seems to me that there was supposed to be a NOT in there ... it matters not ...

i could be reading it wrong i s'pose.

Great idea and write though, cool rhyme patternings and word choice.

What a beautiful showcase for the struggle within. I can very much relate and believe you have done a wonderful piece on the condition of winning freedom, over the fear of the unknown. Your carefully chosen words have captured the emotion. Well done!
