Children in the Rain

Contributed by Lancaster on Thursday, 1st September 2005 @ 09:43:30 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

“That be far from thee to do after this manner,
to slay the righteous with the wicked:
and that the righteous should be as the wicked,
that be far from thee.
Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

A water fountain dispenses the particles of light
And so they dance

The cold reminder of all that passed
Self awareness and obtuse reflection
Spit back a frame of reference
From where we begin to learn again

The right to challenge
all that is love,
all that wisdom,
all that is justice

If you give your senses freely away
You are at the mercy of what the noble men say
And so you dance

The revisionists who differ even among themselves
A passage of rhetoric from one to the next
Sorted and filed in a wondrous index
Ignoring the context
Of which miracle they spoke of with such zest
Zealots,
Extremist,
No doubt will object
To the plot that fits a new agenda unlike last
And so the vision dances

A siege of perspective
Intermingled patrons of brand name love
Stamped
Marketed
With the approval from above
Let us not be the one to judge
To cause such pain
Let it dance like children in the rain

I enjoyed this poem, as I seem to do with all your work I come across. I'm not altogether sure what it's regarding. Love and/or relationships come to mind, but I feel I may be wrong. Enjoyable still, you do seem to have a way with words.

Well the content seems deep in this write, but it escapes me. I've noticed your poetry lately has gotten more abstract than usual...Nice job nonetheless, and I like the title...It gives off pleasant imagery, even if it's metaphorical.

I'm not completely sure what this is about either, though maybe it can attest to many things for many people. I likes the flow and the depth though, and it spoke lyrically. I especially love the ending, it made me smile as I recall my nieces and nephew doing just that. Thank you.

Loende
