selfstruggles

I never thought that I was fat
Just that all the other girls were skinnier
I never thought that I was Teacher's Pet
Just that all the other boys were dumber
I never thought I would have to worry about
Fitting in with people
Until the day I lost my friends
Of stupid things that came out of my mouth
Since then I've been an outcast
With no one by my side
My secrets have been let loose
To the entire school
Now I struggle to be as skinny as the cheerleaders
And as laid back and stupid as the jocks
If that's what it takes
To fit in with a clique
I'm willing to do it
No matter what it takes.

I very much relate to this poem. I had a similar experience in school. I became the outcast. It was me and them. I no longer had use for the word us. Back then it was a curse and a burden. But as I matured I realized the folly of trying to fit in. Nowadays cliques and in crowds are amusing to me at best. Dispicable to me at worst. And I revel in being an outsider. However, in school of course, there isn't any glory in it at all. But I hope that you will eventually learn to develope your own identity, and not fear indivisuality. Because it can be a great asset in a world based on divided groups, and an us and them mentality. |

I have never been able to understand the need to want to be in a 'popular clique' I guess it coz i had my own little crowd that noone use to disturd and we alsways had eachothers back. plus dnt trust others.
I just see it.be who you are. you dnt have to change for anyone. as long as your happy woth yourself then dnt worry bout the rest of them.its not worth it.
keep the faith
