Beauty & The Beast

Contributed by pixie on Wednesday, 31st August 2005 @ 01:48:01 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Beauty and the beast rolled into one,
It isn’t easy and it isn’t fun,
One minute beauty is calm,
Next the beast inflicts her great harm.

Love and hate locked in one mind,
Always looking for a way out of this bind,
One extreme forced by another,
One minute fighters then the next lovers.

Fear and love side by side,
Vulnerabilities lay bare with nowhere to hide,
The saint bound to the sinner,
The expert cast with the beginner.

Opposite sides of the coin,
Yet together they do join,
In pure hate and pure fear,
Keeping their distance yet always feeling near.

Beauty and the beast that is me,
Look hard as it’s not easy to see,
Behind my mask lies a great hurt,
So great it leaves my soul weeping in the dirt.

Oh Krissie...

I believe, that everyone is beautiful, but also that they have your 'beast' in them. It's not wrong. It's normal.

I like this, your writes are always so real.

Great write hunni,
*hugs* Phil xxx

Krissie, this is completely you. Your a beautiful woman with a beastly spirit in you.

I agree with Phil, you do write the most honest poems in the site. And it's been a pleasure reading all of it.

Hugs,
Jane!~

You depicted your internal paradox very well. Very strong poem, full of confusion and contradictory feelings. Exactly what you were trying to portray, I think. Nicely done.

Pixie, I always relate to your poetry very well in some way. It's eerie because your poems seem to coincide with the happenings in my life, though they're most likely about totally different things.
This is greatly expressive. A little choppier than your usual self, but still wonderful.

Love and peace,

Chelsea

Wow !! That is too true of many people. Well ... everybody really. We all have that darker side of our personas that makes up who we are. In many cases that part of us is necessary. I like to think if I keep it fed, warm, and satiated then it will be there when I find need of it.
