Insidiously unrelenting
an uninvited guest.

A sliver of darkness
threatening your light.
Tapping gently on your windowpane at 3:00 am
Waking you in the dark of night.

A steadily increasing pressure
weighing on your mind and chest.
Never will it allow you to truly rest.

A clever intruder
always assaulting its unsuspecting prey.
Threatening to rule you night and day.

Never allowing you to be happy.
Never allowing you to be your best.
Never allowing you to let your guard down.
Never will it allow you to truly rest.

They actually don't bother me as much, or at least I'd like to think that. Overconfidence just might be my weakness.
