We ate dinner at Rocky's last night.
All your friends left while you waited for me.
They said you were crazy for waiting,
but you waited anyway.
I finished dinner,
and you looked tired and ready for bed.
So I walked you back to your dorm.
In a torrential downpour, that had been going on all day.
While we were walking,
you asked,
"Why did you walk all the way to Rocky's, in this terrible weather?"
And I held your shivering body against mine.
I answered you,
"Because I wanted to have dinner with you."
I wanted to say something different.
I just wanted to say...
"...I came because you mean more to me than you'll ever know..."

Aww that's really sweet, and I really like how you ended with that line. It almost leaves me feeling sad, but a thoughtful kind of sad.
keep writing, keep hoping
