A Time to Fly

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Tuesday, 30th August 2005 @ 08:12:49 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

Away, it's time for him to fly
On gentle breeze his wings unfurled
He gives one last and soulful sigh
And leaves this cold and bitter world
A resignation from the race
This game that he was forced to play
Was more than his poor heart could face
It's time for him to fly away

Away, it's time for him to fly
His eyes are cast unto the ground
His kingdom only makes him cry
He leaves it all without a sound
He cannot slow the hands of time
There's nothing more for him to say
And so he ends it with a rhyme
It's time for him to fly away

Roses and drinks

Larry

*downs a white with a rose in her teeth*

*nods and throws her rose at your feet*

Lar, there just is no substitute for your words.
I hope this isn't really a goodbye, but if it is...well, you know where to find me.
Hugs,
Stitch

Your author's note intrigues me ... as it was originally written ? Was it altered at one point ?

Please say this isn't a farewell from you, for you are such a blessing to this site. This is in my opinion just as wonderful as all of the others I have seen from you, sir.

I pray this isn't a farewell poem. I can't even imagine that. You were one of the first people I spoke with on the site. (And I remember being petrified and so shy) You've inspired me to write when I had nothing to even write about. I think you are a great person, talented poet and i'd like to think that you'll stay on the site because you are valued here. You are.

It isn't time for migration. Trust me on this one---I know about bird migration...*Smiling*

I look forward to your next poem L.

Beautiful Larry. I hope you are not leaving this site. My roses will shrivel up and fade away without your loving romantic writes. I do not get much time to come on the site due to being committed to other things. I always try to browse through and your name pops up and I know before reading any of your poems that they will be magnificent. You are one talented man in verse.

One red rose given to you for all the superb words that you have shared with us.

Love Angelxxx

Well, whether this write is about your leaving or about something else touching you in your life(and maybe not even) it was beautiful as always.I liked "And so he ends it with a rhyme", finished this piece off perfectly.Hope this man can find the peace he needs in his heart, but I'm sure he will. He knows what his heart is settled on and the heart doesn't lie.I'm sure he'll be fine.

I somehow missed this one..I try to catch everything you write. This sounded like a farewell ... but I see it was written in 2005...it's odd when I write of wings it's a symbol of freedom..yours are ...well sad wings. We never can tell, can we.?
