Little One

Contributed by mom11159 on Monday, 29th August 2005 @ 12:51:35 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

Little one, who was born so small
One pound 7oz, that was all
That day is when your battle began
Your life long fight will never be done

You fight to win would never end
Little one so strong, your will, would not bend
You fought for yourself in such a way
Little one you were so determined to stay

Now at 22 lbs and 3 years old
Your walking is done on your toes,
Cerebral palsy you now have to fight
Your muscles are short, and very tight.

The doctors say surgery on your legs will be done
So in the hospital you go, for another fight to be won
Coming home, now your fight is to walk on your feet
Little one, God is with you so your goal you can meet

How strong you have been, for a little ones fight
Still waking up with those bad dreams at night
You my little one, are the twinkle in my eye
I love you so deeply, when you hurt, I cry

Life has tried to knock you down
So little one keep fighting, and don’t you frown
God has blessed you with a smile , strength and love
Little one your so precious an angel from above

So never give up, and continue to fight
Little one I’ll be there to hold you at night
You’re my angle, my granddaughter, my precious little one
I will be with you my darling, until your fight has been won!!!

I love you little one (Vaida Rose)

Your verse made me cry, because I understand the battles your family will face. It just proves what miracles children are and how they touch us so much, give us so much and teach us so much. I wish you strength and joy of your little angel.

I am sure you are proud, as you say, of your " good example for all".

Cathy, you have made me laugh & choke up with your awesome true life writings. Besides being a wonderful writer, you appear to be a wonderful mother and wonderful grandmother.

Tim
