To have you on my mind, all the time, causes me too much pain
Gruesome, how it hurts me to think of you
Revolting how I hold on to nothing
Your voice on my answer phone, a photograph
A mere picture in a frame
That’s all you are
A chance meeting
The promise of love
Or another road to hell
Spoken for
Not ever to be truly mine
Still you linger in my mind
And you roam around me
Not wanting to let me be
And once more I wonder what it is you want from me
