The Ghost of Christmas Past

Walking up the steps in a magical haze,
Smells of holiday cheer invading my mind,
Smiling faces wishing to have me near,
A joyous time with you was all I could bear.
Seeing the family for the first time,
Welcome arms and voices allayed the fears,
Decorations made with love and happiness,
A noel feast laid out and eaten next to you.
Haunting memories beg to see it again,
To feel as one with all of them,
Memories still reside of your happiness and your face,
Feeling loved and wanted by you on Christmas Day.

You have written a very good poem. I like it's positive expressions of happiness and love. |
