The beauty is gone
The pain is eased
The hope was denied
The love is deceased
the dream is expired
the words have faded
the light has dimmed
the zeal terminated
the shadows recoil
the well has dried
the tree cut down
the passion has died.
And now you’re away
With prospects to own
And I never display
Grief of being alone
Well I never called
So you never came
Everything’s lost
But the hunger’s the same.
