Ode of a Summer Song

Contributed by hunterj2k on Friday, 26th August 2005 @ 12:46:47 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Over yonder comes the summer
Full of rhythm, awe, and wonder
Birds fly past to raze the treetops
Soaring higher, reaching star drops

Remnants of forgotten worlds
Of flowing colors, star shine whirls
Dreams caress a soulful flurry
Held by nature, judge and jury

Only past and future fades
While present never slips away
Lying gently, tufts of grass
Calm envelopes, troubles pass

As tulips spread across the field
The sunshine lowers, daylight yields
To nighttime dreams, of softer things
Of silver arches, golden wings

Of creatures of a world unknown
Imagination stirs and grows
And melodies which sooth one’s soul
Can strengthen love as truth unfolds

And old ways die while new are born
Revealing roses without thorns
The spirit soars and then decides
To dream again upon sunrise

Sometimes the rhythm felt a little prolonged, does that make sense? But... I think that's just me tonight moreso than your poem. A very happy first write. Very imaginative, too.

Love and peace,

Chelsea
