What did I do last night

Contributed by Archie on Thursday, 25th August 2005 @ 10:56:43 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Introduction: You don't want this to happen to you.

I woke up with a pounding headache today
for what I did last night
I took some aspirn but it would not go away
tell me what I did last night

You say that you are very mad at me
for actions that have caused you very great grief
please tell me all the things I said and I did
so I can ask your forgiveness

I got a call from my girlfriend on the phone
for what I had done last night
She said I was not her boyfriend any more
because what I did last night

If I could just remember what I said and did
then I could ask my girl for forgiveness
I can''t get by all of this pounding in my head
that blocks out the whole memory

I went to work to do my job today
but what did I do last night
My boss was waiting at the door for me
he gave me a pink slip "Good bye"

If I could just remember what I said and did
then I could seek forgiveness for my sins
I can''t get by this pounding deep inside my head
that keeps those memories from me

The police knocked upon my door and I answered
"What did you do last night
Please come with me down to the station
so we can figure out your plight

This is a poem version of this song which took 3 months to write

well coming from someone who does drink (and sometimes to much :( ...) this is dead on...
"If I could just remember what I said and did
then I could seek forgiveness for my sins"-- these lines stick out the most to me because i've lived them... great great write yet again! A++++

Very sad, Archie. I hope you never take up the habit. Alcohol and drugs have destroyed so many people and so many families and is death for many. This write is very good and I hope will make a few people think.

Smiles,
Rita

Archie, I love this so much..you took a serious issue and made it into something one can enjoy and from which one can learn. I hated one word in your presentation.... the word "yet" in your author's note.
Don't start!!

Jenni

*****tell me what I did last night

*****please tell me all the things I said and I did

*****because what I did last night

****If I could just remember what I said and did

*****but what did I do last night

*****If I could just remember what I said and did

Excellent verses for a song

The forgetting sure can shape feelings in turn for the day after. It gives one a type of understanding to a feeling of forgetfulness to block out an emotional field of a nights play.

I sure would like to hear the tune that comes with it.. It sounds sad..

Once a year a $500.00 bottle of the best wine is not bad lol. I can't afford good stuff to make it a habit. Yes, I only go for the best.

I love your song. Send me a track if you get it published.
