Reluctant Farewell

I awakened to the sound of my heart in my head
And the howls of the desire we had not yet fed.
Although I knew we would last for so long,
Love cannot endure here where we are not strong.
From sunrise, the sunset comes on far too fast...
There's no time enough for present, none for the past.
Another reminder taunts me, "Do you remember, dear,
When time paused for you and he?"
...I wish you were here.
