My Lady Fair

Contributed by wizard on Tuesday, 23rd August 2005 @ 08:34:10 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

My lady fair tonight not there
Yet still my heart she holds,
In her place an empty space;
So desolate and cold.

In my dreams her beauty gleams
Like a rainbow through my mind,
But when I wake my heart will ache
For her I cannot find.

My heart grows fonder each time I ponder
The first time that we kissed...
And of our last night when I held her tight
With not one feeling missed.

Though of her beauty I'm blinded I'm also reminded
Of her magical allure,
Her perfect form and touch so warm...
Her everything so pure.

Perhaps tomorrow will end my sorrow
And she'll be by my side,
Until then I'll dream again
For there she cannot hide.
