Ones Final Letters

Contributed by Vampire_Slander on Tuesday, 23rd August 2005 @ 06:51:25 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

This kingship of dreams I have wasted my life on have reached its end
All hopes and accomplishments that I have strived for seem so worthless now
My heart is broken, each breath I take seems more shallow

A past so triumfint in shining glory gainst all, has finally reached its ending
An echo of laughter and flashing smiles have been lost on this eve
I've wasted it all on this hopelessness a childhood built upon my impossible task

Damned am I to wish upon falling stars
Each candle upon a birthday cake burns bright with mocking reviews
I stare at the shards of my past realizing that it was all but a game, and I have lost

Each muscle teeming with life has lost its will to move
Kept warm buy the endless burning pages on the fire
A weeping shell of what I once was, if I ever was anything at all.

This fear plays havoc upon the basic though my doubt is freezing now
Desperation takes a hearty toll on a soul thats been wasted
Daybreak and I have not changed, will I ever?

My adrenaline rush of life as slowly come to its standstill, and I am at its stop
No sun can brighten this internal darkness of mine
A torment continues its painful lesson of dream making

Each page carries its own ashes as I set them against the wind
All but memories, some of which were never real
Life's hardships growing in size as another victim falls to abandonment

So quite as the dreamer lays still, the last note written on the bedside table
A career left behind sent away with wind the ashes of a life's work
Accomplishments dare to comfort him in darkness

This is a quote from a movie, a mentor talking about his apprentice who he had great hope for, the apprentice turned to evil.

"Dreams die long after you hold the dust in your hands and cling to what might have been"

I see a lot of lost dreams in your poem too and it makes me feel sad.

At the end of the story i speak about the mentor had to kill his apprentice to save the kingdom from his tyrany.

In the same way i have to kill the sadness of my lost dreams and create new ones.
