Song Gone Wrong

Contributed by EverlastingDawn on Tuesday, 23rd August 2005 @ 10:36:12 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

No lines ever ring throughout my mind
There’s a passion I can’t seem to find
They pour their heart on to the paper
I could never compare with her
My rhymes aren’t the blood of my life
They don’t sing out my personal strife

My words don’t bring tears to people’s eyes
Because the sadness is not there
My songs don’t cause smiles to erupt
Because I couldn’t really even care
No emotion ever leaks from these lines
Because I let no passion be released
And no thoughts are ever inspired by my own
Because my hunger cannot be appeased
I’m too hollow- I’m empty inside

I can’t pour out my heart
It’s too dear to me to part
And I can’t leave it there
Alone and not able to fair
Leave this to someone else
I won’t give in to the impulse

I might never be able to write my heart out
And my emotions may never be able to shout
But it’s enough to say my writing’s mine
And with that thought I’ll be fine
At least I can call it my rhyme
Even if it’s never put to time

i like this poem being because i used to feel the same exact way. i would read other people poems and i would be like gosh how did they get so many people to read there poems. it seem every poem like that they were pouring there heart out. but i realize that how i write is different. even if one person reads, it feels good. but my writing is different and that what makes a person unique. i think you are unique as well. i love this poem. keep writing

oh, this poem was great! and what are you saying? you're definately talking from the heart there-- i mean, really, you are. just re-read it. well, done though, the poem is true for many people (myself included). just remeber, if your heart wants to talk, let it, don't hold it back. great write, keep up the good work!
