Looks can be Deceiving

Contributed by Shattered_soul on Monday, 22nd August 2005 @ 09:55:16 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I am scared of me;
of what I have become,
though I look happy
looks can be decieving.

Cant you see Im broken?
Just a broken child.
I say I need a hug,
but that only works for a little while.

I need you at my side
forever and for always,
youd be the first to stand by me.
through my thickest pains.

People only see a happy little girl,
but if they looked inside;
theyd see a different world.

Theyd see the scars
across my arms
across my theighs
and through my heart.

Theyd see Im not truly
a happy little girl.
I hide my sadness
with a smile.

Looks can be decieving.

I know the feeling... I hope things get better for you. You sound a lot like a friend of mine.
Anyways, Nice write its really good. The emotions are displayed quite well. You take the reader through a couple twists and turns.
Good write.

This is very true that people can seem super happy but that's not who they are. It can also be the other way around; people can seem sad and depressed when they're not. Good write

I have felt that exact same way before. but it's always important not to be scared, b/c everything you are is just what you are supposed to be. Everything you think, everything you want, and everything you do is everything that make you, you. Such is life, and I enjoyed your poem.
