Knock Knock
He didn't know the man standing in his window.
He didn't recognize the smile,
Or the dark untrusting eyes...
When the man said hello,
The voice was strange...
And there was nothing in his face
that he could identify.
Ratty hair, ten o' clock shadow,
And large bags under bloodshot eyes...
Torn clothing, he dressed as though he was homeless...
A face so stained with the memory of tears once cried.
His fingers dirty, his nails bitten to the flesh...
He was holding a cup of black as sin coffee...
Which like his visage...
Did not look all that fresh.
He had a pleading deperate look,
Across his countenance...
His breath smelled of at least 72 hours of intoxication...
He looked hurt and confused, as though
he had just been hit.
Knock Knock
The stranger in the mirror, just above the "medicine
cabinet."
(Kind of in a weird mood when i wrote this.)
