Beauty Is Only Skin Deep

Beauty is only skin deep
It can’t hide the person you keep
Time had a way of showing truth
As it counts down days of youth
A perfect shape and glowing smile
Will only last a little while
Tight skin and radiant eyes
Will have seen better day’s gone bye
It’s the person that lies within
That will outlast our youthful skin
Don’t judge a person by its cover
Take time to truly discover
The person’s heart the person’s soul
For age will take its toll
Don’t mistake a diamond for a lump of coal
Just because you don’t see the glow
Cause deep inside it’s shining bright
It’s the skin blocking the light
Be wise in how you chose
If you only pick beauty, you’ll surely lose

Awesome write
Yes beauty is only skin deep.. its whats within..
learn a person's heart and you see a beauty that doesn't compare to anything else ..
I personally know a few that has outer beauty but is cold as ice inside..

Okay I have to quote the song by the Temptations that has the same title
"So in love sad as can be
cause a pretty face got the best of me
suddenly you came into my life
and gave it meaning and true delight
Now good looks I can learn to do without
because I know it's love that truly counts
Bueaty's only skin deep yea yea yea . . ."
This is a great write very worthy of the song that is dear to my heart. |

| This is such a truthful write, I really enjoyed this. This society teaches our young women to be anorexic and made up like barbie dolls and our young men have to big and buff. Whatever. It is the inside that counts for sure, Peace to you, Laura |
